Both employ two-speed, electrically shifted transfer cases with four-wheel drive low/locked capability that allows you to handle the most demanding terrain.
Towing is a requirement for many forms of winter recreation in the great outdoors, from ice boats to snowmobiles. Ram Trucks are engineered from the ground up for towing: standard equipment on every Ram 1500 includes four- and seven-pin trailer harness connectors, prewired and ready to plug in, and electronic trailer sway control. Select the available Trailer Tow Group (standard on Outdoorsman), and your Ram 1500 will be equipped with an integrated, factory-engineered Class IV receiver hitch, trailer brake control, and 7×11-inch towing mirrors. It’s a complete towing package, ready for duty.
With any of the three available engines, Ram 1500 provides generous towing capacity. Ram 1500 models with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 can tow up to 7,450 pounds. The 5.7-liter HEMI V8 offers a towing capacity of up to 10,450 pounds. And the new 3.0-liter turbo EcoDiesel, with its astonishing 420 pound-feet of torque, can handle up to 9,200 pounds at the receiver.
